Your information, treated with care
This policy explains what Makina na Okuna collects, how the information is used and the choices available to residents and supporters.
Who we are
Makina na Okuna is responsible for the personal information collected through this website and its campaign communication channels. Privacy enquiries can be sent to hello@evayo.co.ke.
What we collect
We collect only information that people voluntarily provide, such as a name, phone number, area, skills, availability, community concern, invitation details or message.
When a person submits a community issue, they may also choose to provide a photograph.
How we use information
We use the information to respond to residents, coordinate volunteers, organize campaign activities, respond to invitations and communicate with people who have consented to receive updates.
We do not sell personal information or use it for purposes unrelated to Makina na Okuna campaign activities.
Consent
Campaign forms require consent before submission. People may withdraw consent or stop receiving campaign updates at any time by contacting the campaign team.
Storage and access
Access to personal information is limited to authorized campaign staff and service providers who support campaign communications and operations.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss or misuse.
Retention and deletion
We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for campaign activities and applicable legal obligations.
A person may request access, correction or deletion of their information by emailing hello@evayo.co.ke.
Photographs
A photograph submitted with a community issue is used to understand and respond to that issue. It is not published without appropriate permission.
The campaign seeks written consent before publishing campaign photographs in which residents are identifiable, with additional care for children and vulnerable people.
Your rights
You may ask what information we hold about you, request a correction, withdraw consent or ask us to delete information that is no longer required.
This policy follows the principles of Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, including consent, purpose limitation, data minimization, security and access rights.
